Initiatives

Along with our core services, Moore Options for Seniors is involved in a number of special initiatives meant to improve the quality of care and quality of life for New Hampshire seniors.

Shared Housing

At Moore Options for Seniors, we often encounter seniors who are living alone in their homes but are having trouble handling all the housework and keeping up with general maintenance. We also encounter people, sometimes other seniors, who are seeking housing that’s affordable and which, ideally, offers companionship. Wouldn’t a service that matches these folks be helpful?

That’s what we thought. And considering our expertise in senior care and supports that emphasize living at home and remaining part of the community, we decided to explore the development of a Shared Homes Registry. With this pilot project, we’re identifying individuals who might be interested in sharing a home, creating profiles, and developing the screening and management processes to ensure that we help establish a good match between participants and a system that allows these shared home roommates to thrive.

Emergency Services

Many seniors find themselves having to make difficult decisions because of limited resources. An all-too-common scenario is having too much income to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to make ends meet. Sometimes seniors in that position find themselves in need of temporary emergency housing; at other times, it comes down to making an impossible choice between buying food and buying medication.

Of course, at Moore Options for Seniors, we want to help people to avoid such crises. Consequently, we offer our services to direct folks to appropriate resources, bridging the connection and doing everything in our power to move them towards stability.
